Change Makers Live 2023 was the inaugural business and innovation conference hosted by Downtown in Business. The event took place on the 2nd of March at The Spine in the heart of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter. Business leaders, decision-makers and innovators shared their insights and expertise on challenges faced by the UK and the global economy.
Speakers at Change Makers Live
The event saw keynote presentations from various speakers, including Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Wes Streeting and Secretary of State for Education Gillian Keegan. The keynotes addressed different topics, including technology, net zero and health, as well as the cost of living crisis.
Chaired by Robert Binns, DefProc’s MD Jen Fenner was joined by Colin Sinclair (CEO of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool) and Dr Natalie Kenny (Founder and CEO of BioGrad) in the second session of presentations. Jen shared how DefProc is harnessing innovation to power tech for good, from environmental projects like H2Go as well as digital healthcare tools like SmUPS. The conference saw plenty of positive discussions and comments, with Q&As also at the end of each keynote session. It was clear that everybody, from SMEs to governing bodies, has a significant role to play in solving global issues. The Change Makers Live conference was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our work to decision-makers and business leaders from a variety of sectors.
